Vegetable Tart – Sebze Kek

This is a tasty vegetable tart/cake that I have translated from A nice alternative for a light lunch or supper. Would be lovely served with a salad on a warm summers day.


Prep Time: 30 minutes
Cook time: 40 minutes


Spring onions – Half a bunch
Leeks – Half a bunch
Garlic Crushed – 2-3 cloves
Carrots – 2
Red Pepper – 1
Green Peppers (bell or carliston) – 1
Tomatoes – 3
Eggs – 6
Milk – 1 cup
Olive Oil or your preferred oil – 3/4 cup
Flour Plain – 2 cups
Parsley, Dill, Rocket – 1 cup
Baking Powder – 1 tsp
Cheese, which ever is available (feta cheese, cheddar cheese, fresh cottage cheese, string cheese, etc.) – approx 1 cup depending on cheese used
Salt and Pepper to taste –


sebzekekFor the Vegetable Tart:

Chop all the vegetables finely and grate the carrots. Cut which ever cheese you have into cubes. Mix your eggs, milk and oil in a mixing bowl. Take a large deep bowl and mix your vegetables and Egg mix together. Then mix in your flour and baking powder. Season and add in any spices you may wish to add. Pour mixture into a cake tin or glass tray.

Cook at 175 degrees for 35-40 minutes.
