Please note the New rules for the Tourist Visa’s for Turkey will now not happen until sometime in 2015
When you visit Turkey it is a requirement that you pay for a Visitor’s Visa and normally you would purchase your Visitor Visa on arrival at the airport paying £10 sterling.
However this system is now changing as of the 10th of April 2014 you will no longer be able to purchase a Visitor Visa on arrival, you MUST purchase your visa BEFORE you travel to Turkey via the e-Visa system.
The cost of the eVisa will be £15 and still follow the 90 within 180 day rule.
I have recently used the e-visa system which takes minutes to do and a simple process and loved the no queuing at Visa. You will not be able to enter Turkey without this Visa and it is important you make sure to purchase you visa before you travel.
For details on the process for getting you e-Visa for Turkey go to this article e-Visa Turkey
Please note you can not purchase an evisa using a Turkish Credit Card.
It is also very important that you use this website, www.evisa.gov.tr this is the offical Turkish Government evisa website. There are many other websites offering services to get a Turkish Visitor evisa however you will find yourself either paying more than the requirement fee of £15 or being a victim of fraud.
Once the system in place from the 10th of April 2014 I have no doubt that travel agents will also offer to deal with the evisa on your behalf.
